Regenerative Liposuction Milan
Liposculpture with Dr. Alice Miegge
Regenerative liposuction combines the removal of localised fat with autologous lipofilling in areas that need volume. The fat removed isn't discarded but processed and reinjected where it's needed, achieving harmonious body redefinition with permanent results in a single session.
What is Regenerative Liposuction Milan?
Regenerative liposuction combines the removal of localised fat with autologous lipofilling in areas that need volume. The fat removed isn't discarded but processed and reinjected where it's needed, achieving harmonious body redefinition with permanent results in a single session.
How the treatment works
- 1
Surgical consultation and body mapping
Dr. Miegge assesses fat distribution, skin quality, muscle tone and body proportions. Donor areas (where to harvest fat) and recipient areas (where it may be reinjected) are identified to plan a harmonious result.
- 2
Pre-operative tests and preparation
Standard blood tests and an anaesthesiology consultation are prescribed. In the weeks before surgery, weight and lifestyle are optimised. Anticoagulant medication and specific supplements are stopped in the days beforehand.
- 3
Tumescent solution infiltration
Before liposuction, a solution of local anaesthetic, adrenaline and saline is infiltrated into the areas to be treated. The solution reduces bleeding, facilitates fat breakdown and increases post-operative comfort.
- 4
Fragmentation and aspiration
The technology used selectively emulsifies fat cells while preserving surrounding vessels, nerves and connective tissue. The emulsified fat is then aspirated using small-diameter cannulas through 3–4mm micro-incisions.
- 5
Fat processing and lipofilling
The aspirated fat is centrifuged and purified to obtain a live adipose concentrate. The stem-cell-rich fraction (SVF) is separated, and the fat is reinjected into the areas needing volume — buttocks, hips, or areas of asymmetry.
- 6
Compression garment and recovery
At the end of the procedure, an elastic compression garment is applied, to be worn continuously for 4 weeks. The garment reduces swelling, supports the skin during retraction and optimises the final result.
- 7
Follow-up and lymphatic drainage massage
Post-operative check-ups are scheduled at 7 days, 1 month and 3 months. Manual lymphatic drainage sessions are recommended in the first 4 weeks to speed up the reabsorption of oedema and improve the quality of the result.

In traditional liposuction, the removed fat is discarded. In regenerative liposuction, the aspirated fat is processed and enriched with the stromal vascular fraction (SVF), rich in stem cells, then reinjected into areas that need volume. This approach allows the body to be reshaped more harmoniously, adding where needed what's removed where there's excess.
Yes, the fat cells removed don't come back. However, if there's significant weight gain after the procedure, remaining fat in both treated and untreated areas can expand. Maintaining a stable body weight with a healthy lifestyle is essential to preserve results over time.
In the first 3–5 days there's swelling, bruising and discomfort in the treated areas, manageable with common painkillers. Most patients resume sedentary activities after 7–10 days and more physical ones after 3–4 weeks. The compression garment should be worn continuously for 4 weeks. The final result is visible at 3–6 months, once swelling and oedema have fully resolved.
The result isn't measured in centimetres or kilos, but in proportions. Regenerative liposuction isn't a weight-loss treatment but a body-redefinition procedure. The goal is to create harmony between different body areas, reduce resistant localised fat and, where indicated, add volume to areas lacking it. The best candidates are close to their ideal weight with specific localised fat deposits.
Yes. Liposuction is frequently combined with abdominoplasty for cases with significant excess skin, or with blepharoplasty or facial lipofilling in the same surgical session. Dr. Miegge assesses the safety and suitability of combined procedures case by case during the pre-operative consultation.
